Today we celebrate National Coming Out Day!!! Coming out is a personal experience and for some, a painful one. Family rejection because of sexuality or gen...der identity can have extreme effect on a young person and can sometimes even lead to homelessness. With school closures, reduced community services and the lack of supportive family, the coronavirus pandemic heightened the hurdles for LGBT youth. We want to lift up our partner Trinity Place Shelter (TPS) @trinityplaceshelter. We celebrate their advocacy for homeless LGBT youth in New York City. TPS provides young people with access to individual and group counseling, independent living services and transportation. Believe Out Loud and parent organization Intersections International are so thankful to contribute to the work of this LGBT organization at this critical time.
