Hi friends! Happy (almost) summer! And Happy (almost) Father’s Day to our daddies! Here’s a fun way to get more reading in this summer! Make a Copy of this BINGO card, get a BINGO dotter or some stickers and a stack of books, decide what your prize will be ( ice cream, pizza, a visit to a favorite place, etc)then just get reading! This is whole card BINGO so you have to fill the whole card in order for your child to get the prize! This teaches persistence, self regulation, creativity, letter recognition, listening skills, concentration and much more but to your child it’s just fun and they are bonding with their favorite people!

Boredom is the mother of creativity and imagination!

Potty training! It’s the question that parents ask us the most, so here is some information that I hope is helpful for you! Just a couple of my own suggestions1. DO NOT USE PULL UPS. They are simply another type of diaper and prolong the process. If you must use them, reserve them for overnight. 2. Summer is the absolute best time to train. Make sure to dress your child in clothing they can manage quickly. One piece outfits are a nightmare to get off in time, plus your chil...d gets used to stripping down every time they have to go. 3. Speaking of, teach your child to pull up their underwear first then their shorts or pants. Many try to pull both up at the same time and get frustrated with twisted bottoms! 4. This may seem odd, but announce when you yourself have to use the bathroom and what you have to do (#1 or #2). Children need to know this is a natural process that EVERYONE does. It makes it less scary for them. 5. Paramount to success are patience, perseverance and consistency! Make sure everyone in your home and all caregivers are on board and clearly understand how you are choosing to go about training your child to use the potty, and that they take an active role in training. All aboard!! Little ones love trains! Here’s a great family activity to add to those summer bucket lists in our last post!

Hi Friends! Here are some great ideas for super summer fun for little ones of all ages! Print these out or even better, grab some paper, scissors and crayons and make your own! Post it where you can easily see it (hint: grown ups that’s about waist high for you otherwise your little one can’t see it), and then have a blast checking them off! Finished your list? Pick your favs, make a new list and start over again! Enjoy, make lots of memories and have lots of fun! God is happiest when his children are at play Mark Twain

The Owl Classroom (3s) is gearing up for our return from break! Our friendly polar bear Hilda is on the door just waiting to greet our friends! Hoover’s Winter Wonderland awaits in our Dramatic play center with ice skating and hot cocoa and a happy snowman who wants to play! We have missed you all and can’t wait to see you on the 4th! Jesus is indeed the sweetest part of Christmas! The Owl class got to practice using scissors, snipping the red paper for our candy canes! We glued the stripes on all by ourselves! For our fancy hard candies we used homemade puffy paint, and swirled liquid watercolor in! Each one got a drop of peppermint too! Lots of fine motor and sensory play!
