As of March 27, 2016, NYS Public Health Law requires your prescriber to electronically prescribe (e-prescribe) all your prescription medications directly to your pharmacy. Prescriptions will no longer be handwritten or called in to your pharmacy, except in limited circumstances.... Why don’t I get a paper prescription anymore? Ask your prescriber what you are being prescribed at each appointment. Your prescriber may be able to give you a list of what is being prescribed and electronically sent to your pharmacy. 3. Can I still get a paper prescription? No. Your prescriber must electronically prescribe (e-prescribe) all your prescription medications directly to your pharmacy. Only in rare circumstances will your prescriber be allowed to issue a paper prescription.

What is Zika virus disease (Zika)? Zika is a disease caused by Zika virus that is spread to people primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito. The most common symptoms of Zika are fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (red eyes). The illness is usually mild with symptoms lasting for several days to a week. People usually don’t get sick enough to go to the hospital, and they very rarely die of Zika.
