This year has been an exciting time of renewal and innovation for TBDC. Despite the shutdown, the Company has moved forward in 2021 with an exciting mix of in-person and virtual performances. Unfortunately, it was not possible for us to plan for a 2021 gala, which would usually take place around this time. We ask that in lieu of your gala ticket purchase or donation, you may consider contributing to TBDC. Your gift will be instrumental in providing the Company with the fund...s needed to continue to develop both our in-person and virtual programming, expanding the accessibility of experiencing the work of Trisha Brown. You can find the Donate button on our profile page or follow this link. https://www.paypal.com/donate Cecily Campbell performing "Locus" (1975); Stephanie Berger

Our first in-person performance in over a year was a success at @wavehill! After two days of cancellations due to stormy weather, we were able to perform under a cloudless, sun soaked sky. Thank you to everyone who made it out, or tried to! Thank you @sioburke for your writing! Photos by @ioulex. Link in bio for full article. #trishabrown

ON THIS DAY June 11, 1974 Pamplona Stones, a duet originally created and performed by Trisha Brown and collaborator Sylvia Palacios Whitman, premiered at 383 West Broadway in New York. The work was only performed a few times in 1974 and 1975, until it was recently reconstructed by Cori Olinghouse with performers Leah Ives and Amanda Kmett’Pendry in 2018.... In Trisha’s words- I made ‘Pamplona Stones’ because I've been doing this very austere, structured work for the past three years. I don't know how to say it other than to say that. I have not allowed myself to...you see, I've really been working with strict discipline and logic for a long time. Well, ‘Pamplona’ has no logical structure, no form...It's permission. I mean, it's what one does after they've been holding themselves in. - Trisha Brown, 1974. Video Courtesy Walker Art Center #trishabrown #sylviapalacioswhitman

Thank you so much to all who participated in our 2021 [Virtual] Winter Intensive last week! Led by company members Kimberly Fulmer and Amanda Kmett’Pendry, dancers from all across the globe joined in learning Solo Olos (1976). Throughout the week they had the opportunity to improvise, create and compose, as well as have a conversation with Elizabeth Garren and Wendy Perron, original dancers in "Solo Olos". In this first clip from the workshop, the dancers are showing their Spill phrases built from a set of typewritten instructions by Trisha.

As 2020 comes to an end, and as we close the Trisha Brown Dance Company’s 50th anniversary this year, please consider contributing to support our continued recovery and the work we have planned for 2021 and beyond. We are proud of the amazing artists we have worked with, the ability of our programming team to adapt our work to the virtual space, and our community for their dedication and support over the past nine months. As a thank you to you please enjoy this behind-the sce...nes footage from rehearsals of Foray Forêt, with commentary from Trisha Brown describing her inspiration for and development of the piece. None of what we do would be possible without the support of individuals like you who donate and provide us with the resources to build great artistic experiences. Your donation, at any amount, will have an impact and be used fully towards the creation of our work both virtually -- and in person -- in the year ahead. Thank you for all your support and best wishes for the new year, The Trisha Brown Dance Company https://vimeo.com/493442257
