Members of the 3rd Platoon Headquarters this afternoon were doing some rope training using the ladder truck as a high point for rescues off of elevated structures. Members must be prepared for all types of rescues and training like this helps to be prepared when we encounter these rare occurrences while doing our job. @troy_firefighters #troyfirefighters #iaff #local86

City of Troy: Second Alarm Structure Fire 500 6th Avenue. Firefighters had heavy smoke showing two blocks away on the initial dispatch. Firefighters found one cat unharmed and one did not make it. The Red Cross has been contacted for the residences effected by the fire.

Today members of the Troy UFA teamed up with members of the Albany Permanent Professional Firefighters Association Local 2007 to participate in the 14th Annual "Stick it to Child Homelessness" Stickball Tournament held at the Little Italy Market Place.
