Tribute Ride passing by the shop: Each year Tryals Shop friends and family gather to cheer on the Motorcycle Motorcade that goes by the shop for the Annual Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor Tribute Ride. Last year (despite Covid adjustments and threat of rain) we had a super time here including three special guests: WWII Navy Veteran George Komer, Chapter 377 Members and Colorguard, and Lisa LaDieu singing the Star-Spangled Banner. We expect to have a wonderful t...ime again this year as we cheer on the hundreds of street bikes that ride by the shop on their 100 mile Tribute Ride tour. This year we plan to Trials Ride here afterwards and have a bite to eat together. The Summer E.T.C. Course (Event #2) will be marked (if you want to score for year-end award) or just fun ride. Dish to pass is appreciated, and LK will have some cookies and things on the hotplates to snack on.Please join us! Saturday July 17th Special Ride (and Ride) Picnic Day Watch: Tribute Ride Ride: E.T.C. Summer Course (Event #2) Eat: Picnic Buffet (Dish to Pass)* Arrive by 12:30 if you will be joining us for watching the Tribute Ride go by the shop (Details below). Busy weekend, with two days of lessons and helping a rider with bike prep for the D4 Trial in Dalton. Now that the real hot weather has arrived, we wanted to remind riders.... that you can ride in the cooler part of the evening, under the lights. Always a good idea to call ahead.

Marathon Trial- Updated Score Board: Hi Everyone, Some new scores up on the score board. Brandon Maynard turned in a perfect score Sunday. Actually, it was 4 Maynards Sunday riding the course. Isaac is so much fun to watch ride- and very skilled on his Oset 16. Listening to him and Ian talk about line choices and technique is even better. Priceless. Thanks to all the participants so far for coming out. Mike

Marathon Trial Scoreboard- Our first group of riders have posted their scores. Some rode over the weekend and some today. Justin Johnson from Pa. is at the top of the leaderboard. He turned in 4 perfect loops for a total of 320 points. There were 8 sections with four loops and 10 points to earn in each ride attempt. I am sure some will come back to try and improve their scores or to ride the event using totally different lines, as there are multiple ways to get each set of gates. Mike

Tryals Shop Marathon Event- Marked & Ready (Additional Info) Hi Everyone, Thanks to all who attended the M&M Trial in Richford this past weekend. It was a decent turnout and a mixed day with most riders having a dry course on the first lap and a little mud on the second lap. Tryals Shop E.T.C. Events Update Information: Hi Everyone Details below: Another newsletter---here it is--- with all the details (or contact Mike or Mike). [email protected] 315 497 3268 [email protected] 607 342 7996. ... Online registration is open for the M&M Trial. Go to britianniamotorcycles.com *Details for Marathon E.T.C Event at the Tryals Shop: Date-----starting from September 14th through Oct 31. As always, we do not want to conflict with other Club Events so for those wanting to ride the course on a Sunday please call or email and let us know your plans. There will be no sign-up cost for the Marathon Trial at the Tryals Shop. We wanted to provide some sort of Event for our Riding Friends/Club Members/Customers this year that would fit into the health situation. Any Club Member who paid their dues for this season will also be paid-up for next year's season due to the fact that we had to cancel our event plans this year. Also please keep in mind the course is totally user-friendly both for Vintage bikes and for kids on Oset electric small bikes. Our terrain situation allows for us to create a line for the Oset bikes (within our normal sections) which is great for parents who want to be able to participate with their kids. There are plenty of obstacles (or a way to go around them) included within the boundaries of the section so each rider can fine tune a line that suits their ability or amount of effort they want to expend. Each section will have 10 points you can earn in it. 5 one-point gates, a two-point gate, and a three-point gate. There are two sections in the pictures here. Scoring will be the same format used at our M&M event in Richford. For detailed definition of M&M scoring go to www.britianniamototrcycles.com Click on M&M Richford Trophy Trial on the header bar, then click on M&M scoring rules in the dialog box that comes up. *Details for Richford M&M Trial Sept 13th. Message below with event details from Mike Waller (land owner) for M&M event: "Good news. The Richford Trophy M & M Trial will take place as planned on September 13th. Due to the current health situation, and the fact that we do not know how many riders will attend, we have modified the format slightly. There will be no barbeque as we felt that was the one thing that would be difficult to organize, and although we will be having the class trophies there will be no photograph prizes. All the details are as per those shown on the flyer with regards to start, finish, sections rules etc. Masks must be worn at the sign up and riders meeting but as usual you will be given your scorecard and a pen in a plastic bag so there should be no problem there. Looking forward to seeing you on the 13th. Mike" Hope to see you all soon! Mike See more

Cancellation- Hi Everyone, Sorry to say I cannot host the D4 event at the Tryals Shop Aug 2nd due to many other event cancellations in my rural region. The Locke firemen's fair plus all other fairs and events (where there is likely to be a gathering of people) have also been canceled. The Frozen Ocean MX track near me, opened up a can of worms for themselves by attempting to have their normal Wednesday night practice and it ended up costing them a lot of money in facility cha...nges. Due to the fact that I am a business and on the main road, I do not want to risk having a bad day because of a citizen reporting there are 50 cars in my lawn. Although the governor has provided guidelines for opening activities in NYS, he doesn't live in Locke and run a business in that neighborhood. Riders are still welcome to come here for fun and practice just give a call and let us know you're coming. Mike, Laurel, Aaron, Moonie See more

Hello Everyone, Sorry, I am not going to have the Frank Cook Father's Day Trial this weekend. However, I am going to have an Open Ride Weekend as we have been doing. We have been asking riders to let us know they are coming so we can know what to expect and limit the number if needed. All group activities are still shut down in our rural area. The Fireman's Fairs, Church Services, sporting events etc.. The local MX track attempted to have their normal Wednesday practice ni...ght a few weeks ago and it was ended by the police showing up because of a citizen complaint. Both the County and State Health Departments stepped in and all hell broke loose which cost the track owner plenty. Looks like August before any events happen (with modifications) at their place. Nobody has ever complained about the Trial bike activity at my shop-- however I don't want to irritate the locals and go through the hell that happened at the MX track. You're totally welcome to come here and ride whenever you like and camp over or whatever but please let us know when. I do have events scheduled in August/Sept and hope all is clear then with State Officials to host events with a gathering of people but we will have to wait and see. One thing remains unchanged--- we will be thinking of Frank Cook and all he brought to Trials and to those around him of all ages. Wishing his family and friends a weekend of fond memories. Still Riding.... :) Hi Everyone, As the weather gets nicer of course we are all thinking about riding. Unfortunately, gatherings (of more than a few people) not a great idea during this time. We did have a few random riders this past weekend. It was really nice to see, however we know and understand that everyone has their own guidelines for staying safe. Although things are different currently, the fun was still there! It reminded me of an old Trial rule concerning the bo...undaries. Before taping the outer boundaries of the sections, we had the 'line of sight rule' which allowed you one bike length outside the markers before you were considered out of bounds- and getting a five. So: Slogan for 2020 riding-----Park a bike length away and you will be ok--if not for yourself do it for somebody else Mike, Laurel, Aaron and Moonie

Events-Empire Tryals Club (E.T.C.) Hi Everyone Hope everyone is well. I wanted to make an official announcement concerning the scheduled May 9th event being canceled. I am pretty certain most everyone would be expecting that-- however, now it's official. I will be addressing each event as they get closer throughout the summer. At this point I am not too optimistic that group activities will be on the agenda for most any sporting events this summer. As we all know, the virus ...will still be a factor and is not going to go away until science can come up with a solution that will restore confidence. Most of us have concern for family and friends who may be at increased risk. Section construction is still underway and we welcome random riding anytime/any day (along with respect for the physical distancing rules). The shop is still open as well, and we are always happy to help with any parts or service-related request. In my last newsletter I had said I would mark out a course on a monthly basis. However, given more thought- I don't think I will be getting enough riders randomly to justify that effort. (It does take hours and hours of work to make that happen.) What I will do is make a special effort to ride with anyone who stops in. I am happy to lay out some sections that will be fun and help you improve your skill set. Just let me know when you're coming and I will be ready. Stay Safe Mike Laurel Aaron and Moonie
