Back in November, Simone from @clubchalamet reached out to us about doing a fundraiser for TSB in honor of Timothee Chalamet's birthday (TC is a fan of our bagels). The Chittle is named after Shawn Chittle who used to live upstairs from our Avenue A location. He graciously made a video of the shop for us right before we opened, which wound up receiving a significant amount of views and helped us get a lot of exposure. TSB is first and foremost, a neighborhood shop, built by neighborhood craftsmen and artists, to be enjoyed by neighborhood folks. The 30th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade is taking place tomorrow, and while it may be virtual this year, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a bagel sandwich while watching! We use all of the traditional French toast ingredients but add in a twist in the baking process + sprinkle on ample amounts of powdered sugar. It’s been a challenging year, but there’s still a lot to be thankful for. When our customers stroll in (possibly hungover) around noon on weekends and say good morning to the staff, little do they know our first baker’s morning started at 4 am. Bagel-making is an all-day process here, from hand-rolling to kettle-boiling each bagel to perfection.

Sure, bagels is in our name, but we also make a mean breakfast. Check out our fluffy pancakes (plain, whole wheat, or gluten-free), omelettes, challah French toast, and oatmeal. And if you’re already placing an order, might as well grab some bagels, too!

We first learned of local artist @urbanrussiandollnyc through an article on @evgrieve, which has led to two beautiful murals at our Avenue A shop - one on our backyard patio and the other directly outside of the shop. The artwork on the patio is called '4 Seasons in the Cat City' and is a whimsical playground of cats, a hot air balloon, and seasonal changes from fall to winter. The front of the shop features 'Unity With Nature,' a seasonal mural that highlights the beauty be...tween creatures on earth and forces of nature. @urbanrussiandollnyc fits naturally with our shop, as she paints about love, unity, and peace, and you can find her work all around the East Village. : @bhlooberry
