Today, members of the Tuckahoe Police Department tried to spread a little holiday cheer by delivering holiday dinners to homebound seniors. A special thank you goes out once again to the ArmourVilla Neighborhood Association for donating the meals, which were prepared at The Quarry Restaurant. The TPD also donated a bouquet of flowers from, Tuckahoe Florist, to each household with the help of The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe. Thank you again to the Senior Director, Jennifer Vetromile for organizing the delivery and helping us to feel the true spirit of this holiday! We want to wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday! #holiday #giving #tuckahoe #police #flowers #seniors #tuckahoepolice #christmas #hanukkah #gifts #eastchester #westchester

Members of the Tuckahoe Police Department joined the Lieutenant Colonel Sam DiRienzo VFW Post 2285 at their Pearl Harbor Day Remembrance Ceremony. We were honored to participate in recognizing the service and sacrifice of our brave men and women on that horrific day 79 years ago, as well as acknowledge the resolve of the Greatest Generation that led our Nation to victory in WWII . Thank you to VFW Post 2285 for keeping the memory of all our veterans alive who gave so much in the protection of our freedom. #pearlharbor #neverforget #freedom #hawaii #heroes #tuckahoe #eastchester #police

Winter Storm Warning Well, the way 2020 is going it was only a matter of time...after a couple years of avoiding Winter Storms one is currently en route to cover the Village with a large blanket of snow. The National Weather Service has just issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area beginning tomorrow afternoon and they are predicting 12-16 inches of snow for our area. You didn't misread that, we potentially will have over a foot of snow. The timing of the storm l...ooks like it will begin around the evening commute, with the heaviest snow starting around 8pm and through the night. PLEASE remember to move your car if you are parked in a snow emergency area (big red and white signs, can't miss them). The storm will bring heavy winds along with it so there is potential for power outages. If you have a power outage please contact Con Ed, not the police desk. Please try and stay off the roads if you do not need to be on them. Leave the roads open for emergency vehicles and DPW so they can clear the roads as quickly as possible. Stay safe! #snow #snowstorm #winterstorm #police #fire #ems #eastchester #tuckahoe #tuckahoepolice #safety #staysafe #coned See more

The Tuckahoe Police Department would like to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving! Earlier this week the Tuckahoe Police Department and the Tuckahoe PBA donated dozens of turkeys to members of the community and faith based groups located around the village. This has been a yearly tradition that we plan to continue for the years ahead! Again, we hope everyone has a happy and safe day!

WARNING: Porch Pirates The Tuckahoe Police Department would again like to warn residents of a crime that spikes during the next few weeks when package deliveries are at its yearly high, "Porch Pirating". Porch Pirates are criminals who walk/drive around neighborhoods looking for unattended delivered packages that are left in front of houses and in apartment building lobbies. They quickly grab the package and leave the area before being spotted. This year we are exp...ecting a record number of packages to he delivered due to COVID. Don’t think that these criminals don’t know this and will be out in record numbers as well. Thankfully there a few measures you can take to avoid being a victim of this crime. If you are unable to be home when your packages are delivered, we recommend the following: - Require a signature if possible. - Leave delivery instructions to place packages at a side/back door that is not visible to the street. - Have a trusting neighbor or friend pick up and hold your packages from your home until you can retrieve them. - Have your packages delivered to your workplace or a UPS/FedEx/USPS store. - Have your packages delivered to a local family member who is home during the day. - Invest in a lockbox/bag that delivery persons can place packages in, then lock up. The Tuckahoe Police Department receives multiple reports of these thefts during the year and especially during this time. Don’t be the next victim of this crime, take measures to prevent it before your packages go missing. Please share this warning to get the word out and as always, if you see something suspicious, don’t hesitate to call 911. #theft #police #porchpirates #tuckahoe #eastchester #tuckahoepolice #amazon #ups #fedex #usps #awareness #patrol See more

Today, members of the Tuckahoe Police Department were honored to attend the Veteran’s Day Ceremony at the Leroy Gregory American Legion Post. It was a poignant observance to honor all of our military veterans, past and present. The Tuckahoe Police Benevolent Association was pleased to sponsor the brunch that followed at The Quarry. It was a small way for us to say Thank You for Your Service. #veteransday #thankyou #army #navy #airforce #marines #coastguard

As of November 1st, New York state requires all passengers to use seatbelts while a motor vehicle is in motion. Previously, adults in the back seats were not required to use seat belts. So to summarize: everyone in the car, no matter what age or position in the vehicle, must be buckled up. Additionally, seat belts must now be worn in all taxis and ride share vehicles (Uber/Lyft etc). Buckle up and stay safe!
