UPDATE ON BONFIRE EVENT: Due to the abundance of snow and rain in the forecast we are canceling the bonfire for this Saturday and rescheduling the event for Saturday, February 20th. Date: February 20, 2021 Location: Powerhouse Park Time: 4:30pm... ICE SKATING RINK: With warmer temps and sun the powerhouse rink is not skatable. The question was raised do we plow the rink, the short answer is no. If snow falls on it feel free to grab a shovel and clear it for use. In past year a few die hard teen hockey players would clear it. We will make sure it has water in it to freeze but other than that regular maintenance is not performed on the ice rink. We will set the light on a timer for night skating. It will go off at 9:00pm Please leave the park immediately following the light turning off.
No trash service tomorrow. IWS will update us tomorrow afternoon when service will be resumed.
Town trash service will be suspended tomorrow. Weather permitting they will resume trash removal service on Tuesday 02-02-21.
Powerhouse Park Ice Rink = Family Fun!
The Powerhouse Ice Rink is frozen and may be skated on. Please proceed with caution and at your own risk. If you notice the ice becoming slushy or water bubbling up please get off and allow the rink to refreeze. Most importantly Have Fun! This week we flooded the powerhouse basketball court in hopes it will freeze enough for ice skating. This must be done slowly and in layers. Please keep off the rink until a notice goes out that it is ready to take on skaters. If kids go on it prematurely it will freeze unevenly leaving air pockets and holes. Also remind the kids NOT to throw rocks and sticks on the court this too will ruin it for everyone.
