This morning as part of the state-wide coalition, we gathered with many allies, organizations, and workers (in a socially distant manner) to call on Governor An...drew Cuomo & Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins to pass Senate Bill S8277B, for all excluded New Yorkers. As many celebrate Thanksgiving this Thursday, despite the pandemic, many NY workers are still working, getting sick, and dying. Many with no food at all. Our essential undocumented workers (despite many paying taxes) were not eligible for Unemployment Insurance, $1200 stimulus check from the IRS, and no food stamps for many. This is a crisis for our communities. And, in the absence of relief, it also forces sick people to venture out to work or search for work, putting themselves and others at risk.
