Board meeting last night. We welcome Robert Ferguson as a new trustee. Missing from the picture are trustees Maria Weitzman and Catherine Gerry. Our meetings this winter are focused on thinking through our mission and reimagining the museum. In planning is a major textile and textile making exhibit for a safe summer opening. Thank you to our supporters. The boiler is in and you helped us with your donations.
The power of art to captivate. Let’s keep supporting our art and history. At UCHS we are spending our COVID pause to think of new, exciting ways to showcase our collection in 2021 and beyond. You have been generous this year. Can we reach out to those if you who have not yet contributed to the Annual Appeal? Our new boiler goes in next week. Help keep our collection warm and our museum vibrant!! Thank you, Susan Sprachman (Board President and proud grandmother)

Another great piece from our collections that will be on display in our improved textile arts exhibit on the 2nd floor. It's a "COOM", for use in preparing flax to make linen, dated 1788! Spellings were frequently phonetic at this time.
Join VP Bill Merchant on Facebook live tomorrow, Sunday July 26, at 2:00pm for part 2 of the tour of the Peter Sinclair tool Room. We think we have the technical glitch resolved and hope for a steady feed!
During this time of profound pain and heartache, the Board of the Ulster County Historical Society express their solidarity with our African American neighbors and those working to deconstruct institutionalized racism. We denounce racism, hate, and oppression in any form and uplift unity and equity to all people. (image description- 19th century portrait of black abolitionist Sojourner Truth)
