Upstate Medical University Simulation Center 07.01.2021

70 years ago this week, the Syracuse University College of Medicine was sold to New York State and became the new Upstate Medical University. The College of Med...icine had been part of Syracuse University since 1872, and was originally called the College of Physicians and Surgeons. Even in those early years, graduates included both men and women. Here's a fantastic picture of the faculty, staff, and students of the College of Medicine from the early 20th Century, gathered outside what is now Peck Hall. #TBT See more

It is especially difficult when the Upstate campus experiences the untimely loss of a student who is on the threshold of a new stage in life, almost ready to be...gin their professional career. In January, second year Respiratory Therapy student Lucy Reff lost a brief battle with a sudden illness. This week, Lucy was featured In Good Health newspaper, a CNY Healthcare publication, and honored for her organ donation. http://www.cnyhealth.com/features/lucys-legacy/ Lucy’s family and friends are also raising funds to establish a scholarship in her name. Use this link: https://www.upstatefoundation.org/chpalumni/donate to help reach the goal to endow the scholarship. In the ‘designation’ line, simply click the down arrow and choose ‘other.’ Then type ‘Lucy Reff Scholarship.’
