We recieved a call for help, asking us to check on a dog who looked to be in poor condition. When we went to check on the situation , we met this sweet little senior girl named Cinderella. Her skin was definitely raw & yeasty and her nails are very overgrown. We spoke to her owner at length and she told us that Cinderella is 13 yrs old and has been with the family her whole life. They have fallen on hard times in the past couple of years and haven't been able to take little... Cinderella for vet care. This little cutie loves her people, especially the kids in the house. We agreed to help out, and had her examined by our vet earlier today. They got her started on antibiotics and medication for her skin and ears & trimmed up her nails. We also provided a bag of special dog food for her. Full bloodwork was taken which will be back on Monday. We are always happy to assist families in our community who need a hand helping to care for their pets. Please consider making a donation towards the care of Cinderella, the sweet little senior chihuahua
Check out who was featured on the Pet Supplies Plus - Medford, NY Facebook page!! Mick (fka Face) got a bath, a nail trim, and a brand new harness. The staff there were awesome and treated him like a king.
Yesterday was another great milestone that we’re so excited to share...Happy ONE YEAR Adoptiverary to the one and only Bobby Brown!! Bobby was taken in by UCNY after being rescued from a fighting situation. He was in terrible physical shape and needed time to heal and quickly learned that he could trust people. After spending a year in foster, he found his forever home and clearly hit the jackpot. Here’s to many more!!! #ucny #rescue #adopt #foster #advocate #theadventuresofbobbybrown The Adventures of Bobby Brown
#throwbackthursday to 2 YEARS AGO when our boy FACE (now known as Mick) spent his very first night in a home! He’d spent his entire life chained and as an outside dog only to be tossed away. That night with his foster family turned out to be his forever and he was formally adopted less than 72 hours later by them. His family reports that he’s doing well and continues make them smile everyday. #ucny #fosterfail #adopt #advocate #educate #fosteringsaveslives #donate #showmeyourpits #rescue #tbt

Our very Irish UCNY alum, Mick (formerly known as Face) wants to wish everyone a Happy St Patrick’s Day. He also wants to remind everyone in these uncertain times, to be kind to each other. Our sweet little senior Cody who came to us in January after his family lost their home, landing him in the shelter, has been doing great in his foster home. He did come down with a little doggie cold but with some TLC he was feeling all better in no time. Cody was at the vet this week where he received a full dental checkup and cleaning. Poor Cody has been abandoned by his people not once but twice in his life and it is our #1 priority to take as much time as needed to mak...e sure his next home will finally be his Forever home where he will be loved and cared for the rest of his life. This sweet boy will be heading to Manhattan this weekend for a meet and greet with potential adopters. We are hopeful this will be a perfect match Keep your fingers crossed for Cody and please consider making a donation towards Cody's Dental procedure, any amount helps big or small and is greatly appreciated!
It’s #shelterdogsaturday and this week we present to you, Simba. His shelter volunteer tells us that this super handsome hunk is estimated to be about 3-4 years old, and while a little shy at first, warms up as he gets to know you. We have another cutie from Islip Animal Shelter for #shelterdogsaturday ! Another volunteer reached out to us and asked us to share Wally (aka Wally the Walrus). She sent us this picture from @islipanimals IG with the following description: He is a young 10 year old and has lots of sloppy kisses left to give. He is short and stocky and loves everyone he meets. He is blind in one eye and his mouth is a little crooked but that doesn’t slow him down. Wally is a love with people but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Please contact Islip Animal Shelter if you’d like to learn more about him or to meet him!
An update from Rosie’s family! Who remembers Rugged Rosie? She had a rough start to life, and lived on the streets as a homeless dog. She’s found her perfect family and is living the wonderful life she truly deserves!!
Our poor little senior boy Cody has now been given up by a family he loved not once but twice in his lifetime. He is really hoping 3rd times a charm and he'll finally find a family who will love and cherish him forevermore. Cody is surely missing his people and the life he had ripped away in an instant but he remains a super sweet soul, who holds no grudges. If intrested please message us with any questions or fill out an application on our website www.unchainednewyork.org
