Today, we are very fortunate when it comes to hair removal and we have a wide range of safe and permanent choices for removing hair. That was not the case throughout much of history when materials like lead-based creams and ammonia-soaked cloths were used to removal facial and body hair.

When applying skin care products on your face, don’t forget the neck and chest area too. These areas are often neglected in skin care regimens, but the skin on the neck and chest needs plenty of TLC too.

Did you know that threading is actually healthier for the skin than other methods of hair removal? This is because the top layer of skin remains untouched and thus undamaged.

If you have combination skin, facial peels combined with exfoliation two to four times a week can help to balance your skin and maintain a healthy youthful glow. When exfoliating at home, be particularly gentle with dry areas on the skin.

Many of the finest, most effective hair removal waxes are made from natural compounds. Paraffin and other synthetic waxes are not as malleable and can dry skin and hair. Natural waxes, like beeswax, palm wax, and vegetable-based waxes are more pliable and contain helpful natural oils.

Since most waxes are used when warm, they can burn your skin in some cases. However, unlike waxing, threading does not have the potential to burn your skin.

Different threading artists may use different procedures, depending on where they received their training. Although the principles are the same, Middle Eastern threading is slightly different than Indian threading.

Even if your eyebrows don't have a natural arch, you can have them shaped that way with threading. However, creating an arch will result in a much thinner brow.

Did you know that humans have more hair follicles per square centimeter of skin than gorillas? Most hair found on humans is not visible, so we appear to be less hairy than gorillas. Waxing removes visible hairs as well as hair that is not visible, leaving you with very smooth and silky skin for weeks.

Threading is an excellent way to add definition and shape to your eyebrows. You raise the arch of your eyebrows, give them crisp lines, or eliminate that pesky unibrow.

If you have sensitive skin, stick with gentle enzyme peels or low acid chemical peels and forgo any at home exfoliation. Gentle facial peels can also be customized to suit all sensitive types including dry, combination or oily skin.
