After a summer filled with exciting multi day backpacking, and canoe camping trip for youth. We are thrilled to be launching a series of adventures for children, teens, and families. In these times it has become increasingly important to find safe ways to get out and connect with others. Time in nature provides a unique and rewarding way to achieve that. 14 days, 92 miles on the Long Path, with 7 amazing young men. This trip was so spectacular and I am so thankful for the relationships that made this possible. Anyone who spends a lot of time in the outdoors knows there is those special times when you meet great people, and this trip was only possible, because of the quality team @henri_delavega (Henri de la Vega) & @brooklynadventureco ( Brad Winer) who excelled at this type of challenging long distance adventure because of ...their experience. Through the years of guiding I have met all sorts of amazing people. Laura is one of my favorites! She shares the same kind of unwavering sense of adventure, and her determination to keep herself going is truly inspiring. Not that long ago she would have thought these trips were out of reach for her. Now she has completed the ADK 46, Catskill 35, and she is chiseling away at the Winter 35, and Catskill Hundred Highest. These times have us all very cautious about where we can ...travel to, what we can do, and who we can spend time with. Last year we traveled to the White Mountains to tackle a very important bucket list hike. This year we had planned to tackle a few key hikes in the Green Mountains, but COVID19 made us think twice about our exposure during travel, and the risk of exposing others. So we made some adjustments, and enjoyed 3 days of solitude while bushwhacking several of the Catskill Hundred Highest. Day 3 of 14. This intrepid group of teens is chiseling away at a 92 miles route along the Long Path. They started Saturday at Ver Nooy Kill Falls, and are headed to Windham High Peak. These teens were determine to find a way to adventure outdoors this summer when camp was closed. We are so happy to be sharing our time making this adventure possible.
