The Center for Community Engagement is excited to share this May issue of Speak UP magazine, created by CCE frequent flyer, Mxolisi Michael Vilakazi and featuring a number of talented U of R student essayists! Michael has participated in CCE's Urban Fellows program in summer 2019 and subsequently completed the Certificate of Achievement in Community-Engaged Learning this year. His capstone project was carried out in partnership with Kiva Rochester, housed in the City's Offic...e of Community Wealth-Building, and it expanded upon capacity-building work that he undertook as an Urban Fellow to make credit available to low-income community members to start micro-enterprises. Michael's commitment to social justice has left a lasting impression upon the UR campus and the greater community. We'll miss him and hope he keeps in touch! Congratulations, Michael on bringing this publication together! Another important contribution and accomplishment: https://drive.google.com//10VpEy3t0IKYtXcx3YDrOFraiJ/view
