University of Rochester Student Fellowships Office 30.12.2020

The Fellowships Office is deeply saddened by the passing of Emil Homerin. A thoughtful scholar, a dedicated teacher, and a staunch champion of the Take Five Program, he impacted the lives of countless students, staff, and faculty at the University of Rochester. May his memory be a blessing to all of us.

Seniors and alumni with a strong interest in ending hunger, here are two fellowships to consider. The Emerson National Hunger Fellowship is an 11-month fellowship. Following orientation and field training in Washington, D.C., Emerson Fellows spend five months with community-based organizations throughout the United States. In mid-February fellows return to Washington for a second placement with organizations and government agencies focused on national anti-hunger and anti-...poverty policy. https://www.hungercenter.org/what-we-/emerson-fellowship// The Leland International Hunger Fellowship is a two year opportunity. Leland Fellows are placed with host organizationsinternational and local NGOs, multi-lateral organizations, private sector entities, or U.N. Agenciesmaking substantive contributions to both program and policy initiatives. Leland Fellows’ two placements are coordinated to show one issue from two different perspectives and provide experience along the full spectrum, identifying ways that fellows can bridge the gap and make the greatest contribution to food and nutrition security. https://www.hungercenter.org/what-we-do/leland-fellowship//

We aren't expecting a big crowd tomorrow, so you can think of this as a "speed dating" edition of Ask Us Anything: the session will be only half an hour long. Join us for a quick question, or stay for a longer chat. And remember--we're open to even the most basic of questions! You can register for the session here: https://rochester.zoom.us//tJcuceupqzsiHdAt0ULiMLnrrAV7pCO
