Great job to the Crew at Station (Small) East Moriches who responded to a capsized vessel in Harts Cove with three people in the water. Along with a Good Samaritan, the CG 29265 recovered all persons in the water safely. Once onboard the 29265, first aid was administered to a gentleman who sustained a small laceration on right arm. All three people were safely transported to Shore. Bravo Zulu!
As you prepare for a weekend out on the water, please ensure you have all your required safety gear!!
On July 9, 2020, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Marine Bureau was called upon to assist the United States Coast Guard with a Boating While Intoxicated (BWI...) investigation. The operator of the boat was arrested and charged with BWI. The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind all residents that operating any vehicle while intoxicated, including a boat, is a crime. Our specially trained Deputies will be out on the water and on the lookout for unsafe boating. We want all Suffolk County residents to have a safe and enjoyable summer! #SafeBoating #SuffolkSheriff #SCSO U.S. Coast Guard Station Shinnecock
