The Save Our Stages Act just passed as part of the COVID-19 Relief Bill! Thank you for helping to #SaveOurStages! Our gratitude extends to Sen. John Cornyn (R-T...X) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) in the Senate, Rep. Peter Welch (D-VT) and Rep. Roger Williams (R-TX) in the House, leader Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and 230 bipartisan cosponsors in Congress. And another big thank you to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), and Rep. Steve Chabot (R-OH) of the Senate and House Small Business Committees for their commitment to helping our industry and other small businesses. The Save Our Stages Act will provide emergency relief to independent venues and promoters which have been devastated by the pandemic’s shutdown. Made up of some of the area's funniest, most creative people, Uptown Improv Co. performs one-of-a-kind, original comedy shows at the Uptown and invites the community to come laugh together. Since the theatre had to pause live programming in March, Uptown Improv Co. has been working tirelessly writing and producing content for its virtual variety show Uptown Tonight. The show also offers a platform for local musicians as featured musical guests. Uptown Improv Co. has been welcoming new additions as more people reach out looking for a creative outlet during these difficult times.
