Santa is on his way! The Valhalla Fire Department is making final arrangements for Mr Claus. He will start his trip through town tomorrow night starting at 6:30 and then again on Wednesday and Thursday nights (weather permitting). Due to the COVID pandemic Santa has passed along some instructions. Santa asks that if you come out to see him that you wear a mask and stay socially distant. Santa also wanted us to pass along that we are unable to hand out candy canes. This i...s out of caution for the public. We also want to keep Santa safe so he can make his journey on December 24th. Each day we will be posting the streets that will be visited that night. You can also check out the complete list of streets on our website, valhallafd.org. Though this year’s Santa run may be different than years past, we still enjoy keeping the tradition alive. Keep checking our social media platforms for more information. See more
Probies got their hands on some hose on this foggy Saturday morning. Members trained on stretching horseshoes, getting the nozzle and coupling to the door and radio transmissions. We love seeing members put in the reps
The Valhalla Fire Department would like to congratulate Luis Herrera for completing the NYS Firefighter 1 course. This 129 hour course allows members to become interior firefighters. Firefighter Herrera's training was on basic fireground tasks like water operations, ladders, search/rescue, and ultimately extinguishing a fire. This class was held at the Westchester County Fire Training Center on the Grasslands campus. We wish Firefighter Herrera the best of luck! If you or someone you know wants to join the ranks of the department, message us or click the "how to join" tab on our website for more information.
This afternoon, Valhalla FAST was dispatched to Ardsley for a 2-Alarm apartment fire. Upon arrival members took over FAST operations from Fairview Fire Department.
