VFW Auxiliary Post 5444

Auxiliary update: praying this finds everyone safe and well! The officers from 2019-2020 will remain in place until such time as we can hold a meeting with elections. Hopefully this will happen within the next few months.

To my fellow auxiliary sisters and brothers - Praying that all who are reading this are well and surviving this trying time. I'm sure that everyone realizes that there will not be an auxiliary breakfast on Sunday. Even with a slow start, this event has been very successful! Hopefully, we will continue this fundraiser next year. We will have some new people at the "grill"!!! I am waiting to hear from the nominating committee regarding some new officers. If you are interested in a position but haven't been contacted, please notify Diane, Clarice or Melanie. We do not have to have a meeting to vote; I will contact all as to how this will happen. Our #DutchessResponds efforts are up and running and we are so grateful for the overwhelming support of residents, businesses, and nonprofits who are helping ne...ighbors in need - getting them the support they need to #stayhome and #stopthespread. We are all taking on new roles during this time - whether our jobs have us doing something new like Jessica from Probation & Community Corrections who loaded up food deliveries from Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County or Lou from our Medical Reserve Corps of Dutchess County who was bringing food deliveries to Amenia and Dover. We can all help! "Dutchess Responds" is a single point of contact for those offering support to those who need it. Hi members, Hope everyone is being safe.We will get threw this mess that the world is dealing with and get back to our friends and extended family for good time...s again soon, hopefully within a month or two. we miss everyone one of you and the good times we share at the post, just a little information for you ,myself and steve monica are the only ones going into the post and we will go in on different days and call each other if we will be going in.just a little extra caution on our part . If anyone one needs anything from the VFW such as wheel chairs walkers ect ect,just let me know and I will clean and deliver to your house or you can pick it up in the parking lot from me at a safe distance of course.
