The Village of Herkimer is forming a Focus Group to look at the Economic Development within the village. We are looking to diversify the group and need a few more residents. If you are interested in joining this group, please write 1 paragraph about why you would like to join, and submit it to Colleen or Nicole at the village office located at 120 Green St. The first focus group will be October 21st, please let us know your interest by 10/16/20. The agenda for tonight's Village Board Meeting

A small press conference was held for the Herkimer 9 downtown project roll out . It is very hard to explain the entire project but it will transform our village like no other it will include the restoration of a section of the Village to the 1890 era when Herkimer was declared the smartest Village in the country . It will contain at least 2 museums with STEM schooling available. Also our library will be transformed into a beautiful learning center and youth center with possib...le schooling for the arts . Our middle school LW.Bills will once again be a leaning center and the gymnasium restored as it was during the first high-school championship game which Herkimer won by the way . Our history proves that basketball was invented here and we by no means want to take the Hall of Fame away from Springfield but want to put Herkimer into the history books as just that and to create the worlds largest basketball and rim and to build the Lambert Will field house with a beautiful park and monument noting the birth place of basketball. This will not only transform Herkimer's downtown but build our historic four corners to a magnificent place to visit and see all of our history our GREAT VILLAGE OF HERKIMER has to offer .
