The Village of Montgomery Police Department would like to express our deepest condolences for the Weissman family and our brothers and sisters of The Town of Wallkill Police department for the passing of Sergeant Barry Weissman. You will be missed Sergeant, we have the watch from here.

PSA: Expired Vehicle Inspections, Non-Driver IDs and Vehicle Registrations Extension Ends November 3, 2020. Vehicle registrations including temporary auto dealer registrations and non-driver identification cards that expired March 1, 2020, or after and vehicle inspections that expired March 31, 2020 or after will no longer remain valid after November 3, 2020.

PSA - The law, which was signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in August, requiring everyone 16 and older to wear a seatbelt when riding in the back seat took effect on November 1st 2020. This law applies to personal cars, as well as taxis and ride hailing services like Uber and Lyft. Anyone younger than 16 was already required by law to buckle up. Back seat passengers caught without a seat belt can be issued a summons which carries a $50.00 fine. The driver could be fined, too.
