COVID-19 Announcement Saturday, November 14, 2020 COVID-19 Announcement: Northville Central School District has been notified by the Fulton County Department of... Health that a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 has been traced to the Elementary School. The staff members who have been in contact with the individual have been referred to the County Health Department for instructions, and families of all 5th grade students have been called by our district to let them know the Health Department Contact Tracers will be in touch. All 5th grade students will move to remote instruction on November 16th. At this time, we are waiting for further direction from the Department of Health. We have also notified families of middle and high school students who may have ridden on the bus with the identified case. In addition to the regularly-scheduled disinfecting routine, the Elementary 3rd-5th wing, Library and Cafeteria have been doubly disinfected as of Saturday evening, November 14th. NCSD is cooperating with the Department of Health to investigate and contact trace this case. If there is further information about this situation, updates will be provided for you. *****Update 11/17/2020 The monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. will now be conducted via Zoom for this month. Here is the Zoom meeting number for anyone wishing to attend virtually ---- 849 249 0095 The Regular Monthly Board meeting of the Village Trustees will be conducted on November 17th at 7 p.m. in the Bradt Building. The meeting will be open to the public but due to 50% occupancy reduction and social distancing requirements, attendances is limited to six people in addition to Board and staff. Masks must be worn, temperatures will be taken at the door, and contact tracing sheets will need to be filled out. If you wish to address the Board in person, please email [email protected] to assure a spot is reserved for you.

DPW Superintendent Reidell reports that the last brush pickup of the season will be on November 4th. The crew will continue to pick up leaves until the first significant snowfall. He asks that residents remove portable basketball hoops out of the ROW in the streets as it interfers with the collection of leaves.

Town of Northampton Highway Supervisor Ken Cramer reports that Houseman Street will be closed to all traffic on Tuesday, October 20th beginning at 9 a.m. until approximately noon for road repair. During this time, no vehicles will be allowed past Marion Drive. To avoid conflict, please plan ahead. Call the Town Highway Facility at 518-863-4282 with any questions.

Water bills were recently mailed for the Village of Northville. The is a billing issue that has come to our attention that we are working at fixing. It affects ONLY property owners with multiple units on one account. We are working with the software company to correct these bills. ALL water accounts will be $90 dollars higher in their Base rate this cycle due to the conversion to radio read meters but multi unit owners were inadvertently charged that fee for every unit. New bills are being processed for multi unit owners and you will still have 30 days to pay without penalty once you receive the bill. Again, this ONLY affects multi unit property owners. Due to the Monday holiday next week, trash pick up for the Town and Village will be shifted a day: Town pickup on Tuesday, Village pickup on Wednesday.

JOB OPPORTUNITY The Village of Northville is hiring for the position of Code Enforcement Officer. This is a Part Time position, two days a week at $ 17.00 / hour. The Village will train and certify appropriate candidate. We have received numerous calls about Trick or Treating this year and would like to give an update as of now. Trick or treating has never been a Village organized function. The Village of Northville will not ban trick or treating this year and will defer to the State's guidelines and mandates. However, should a COVID-19 outbreak occur among our children, which causes Northville Central School to be closed at that time, the Village Board does not feel it can allow trick or tre...ating. As it has been in the past, the hours for trick of treating will be set from 5 pm-7pm on the 31st. If you would like to participate by handing out candy, please leave your porch light on for trick or treaters. If you choose not to participate please ensure your porch light is off. We also encourage people to think of alternative ways to participate that will keep everyone safe. Some thoughts might be: Considering handing out treats at the sidewalk rather than on porches or at doors. This can limit the amount of congestion leading to your door. Considering laying out treats individually on a table, eliminating dipping into a common bucket. This also allow for better social distancing. As the Village receives information from the Governor's Office we will share it here. We ask that those who choose to participate please exercise caution by maintaining social distancing and wearing appropriate PPE. See more

DPW Superindent Reidells wants to remind residents to separate leaves and brush when bringing yard debris to the curb. The next scheduled pickup of yard debris is October 7th. After Columbus Day, the crew will pickup leaves as needed until the first significant snowfall.

Reed St between 2nd and 3rd St will be closed tomorrow, September 17th, starting at 7 am to repair water leak.

The Biennial Village Election will be held in the Village of Northville, New York at 412 S. Main Street on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from noon to 9 p.m. per Governor Cuomo's Executive Order. The election was scheduled to occur on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 but was delayed due to COVID 19 and the Governor's Executive Order. OFFICER : TWO TRUSTEES, currently held by Sue Sedon and John Markiewicz ... TERM: FOUR YEARS Both Trustee Sedon and Markiewicz will appear on the ballot as Republicans and are running unopposed. Pesticide Being Sprayed Tonight This is a reminder that the soccer fields on the main campus will be sprayed with pesticide this evening after 5 p.m. The field will have posted signs after the spraying. Everyone should please remain off the fields for 72 hours. Thank you!
