The Village of DeRuyter is saddened to hear of the passing of Assemlyman Magee. He worked tirelessly for our district for 28 years in Albany. Bill also helped the Village obtain funding for the Youth Recreation program and secured the first Ferris Mower the Village owned to maintain the baseball field and fairgrounds. A common site at the Fireman’s Fair where he could be seen driving his antique tractor in the parade. Bill also would stop by the Ruritan Auction where he would step in auctioneering off stuff to raise money for the club. A true advocate for our area! He will be missed by many.

The Ruriteen Club ( Deruyter Ruritan Club) is hosting a food/ supply drive tomorrow (11/29) and December 6th at the Fairgrounds. See the flyer for details!

With the increasing numbers of positive COVID-19 cases in our area, it is now more important than ever that we go back to the basics. We all need to do our part... and remember the 3 W’s: Wear a face covering when in public Wash your hands regularly and practice personal hygiene Watch your social distancing, be sure to maintain 6 feet of distance

**Halloween 2020** The Village of DeRuyter is having Halloween!!! Our stance is as follows: ... If you feel ill please stay home and do not hand out candy. Homeowners- If you wish to participate and hand out candy, turn on your front porch light. While handing out candy, do so safely and try your best to adhere to social distancing. Trick or Treaters- Please respect property owners who wish to not participate. If the porch light is off, continue on down the block. The traditional Costume Contest, hosted by the Fireman's Auxiliary, will not be happening this year. We hope to bring that back in 2021

Please Welcome Chuck Walters as the new town Supervisor of DeRuyter. We look forward to working with him in the future!

The Village of DeRuyter Trustees, Water Superintendent, Clerk and Mayor all pass along our condolences to the Family of Fred Lawrence. A staple in our community for many years, Fred served DeRuyter in many forms, most recently he stepped in to be the Town Supervisor when the position became Vacant in January.
