The Mineola Fire Department will once again be bringing the Operation Santa Program to our village. Unfortunately, this year we will not be making personal in house visits to our village residents homes, schools or fraternal organizations Christmas gatherings here in Mineola. There is no need to call for any dates as we will be passing slowly up and down the blocks in our village on many different dates between the hours of 7PM-930pm. When Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, and the Elv...es are in sight you can come out and take a photo next to the truck or engine while they stay on the vehicle. Santa will be visiting the following neighborhoods on the below listed dates. Water service has been restored in the Northwest portion of Mineola following this evening’s water main break. Any residents experiencing rusty water conditions should run the cold water faucets in sinks and tubs until the water runs clear. Toilets should be flushed several times each to clear after running the cold water faucets. DO NOT run hot water while flushing lines -- clear with cold water only. Running hot water will draw rusty water into hot water heaters or tanks and will then be difficult to get out of the hot water system. Thank you.

Residential Rear Yard Garbage Collection The Village of Mineola continues to offer rear yard garbage pickup as part of our regular sanitation collection services. While temporarily halted due to COVID-19, rear yard pickup resumed on September 14.... Residents are reminded that rear yard pick up is available to all residences throughout the Village, regardless of street or route. Residents must provide rear yard access by a clear, unobstructed path of at least 4 feet in width. If you would like to receive rear yard pickup but are not, please call the Village Clerk’s office at (516) 746-0750 option #5. Thank you.

There is a water main break at Foch and Wilson Boulevards. Residents in the Northwest section of our village may be experiencing loss of water service or reduced water pressure. Water Department personnel are already on site and working to restore water service as quickly as possible.

Village Offices will be closed on Monday October 12, 2020, for the observance of Columbus Day. The holiday collection schedule for this week is as follows: If your normal collection days are Monday and Thursday, your garbage will be collected on Tuesday and Thursday.... If your normal collection days are Tuesday and Friday, your garbage will be collected on Wednesday and Friday. Recycling, Rubbish and Newspaper Collection will remain unchanged. Yard Waste will be collected Friday, October 16, 2020.

A reminder that the Mineola Village Election is tomorrow, Tuesday September 15, 2020. This is the rescheduled election normally held in March, but postponed due to COVID-19. All registered voters are eligible to vote in Village elections.... All voting is conducted at the Village Hall Community Center, 155 Washington Avenue. Polls will be open from 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM Please call the Village Clerk's office at 746-0750 with any voting questions.

The Village of Mineola will be holding its annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony this Friday, September 11 at 7:00 PM in Memorial Park. All residents are welcome to attend. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, any residents attending are asked to wear a mask or face covering and observe 6’ social distancing at all times.... Thank you.
