This is one of the best ways to help young people -- give them jobs!

Gathering tonight in #Brownsville in memory of two of our brothers recently killed by gun violence. Thank you #BIVO, (Brownsville In Violence Out), CAMBA's cur...e violence program, and Anthony Newerls, for organizing this but more importantly for helping the family of the deceased. Also thank you to Digna Xiomara Layne Kidd from Good Shepherd Services and her team for coming out and supporting. I am happy to see that #BIVO is making a difference in Brownsville in helping our young people settle their differences with their words, and not with guns. As Hillary Clinton once said, 'it takes a village to raise a child,' We all need to come together and do what we can to stem this tide of violence. Each one CAN reach one. Look out for your children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren AND your neighbors children. Tell them you love them and you care about them. Ask them how you can help them do well in school, stay in school, get a job, keep their job. Your care and concern goes a very long way and can even SAVE a LIFE.
