NYS isn’t allowing the unemployment to be nontaxable
NYS has not decided what it’s doing with the unemployment. We are unable to file NYS returns with unemployment until that issue is resolved. So clients with unemployment will be filed once NYS resolves the issue
IRS will refigure your taxes if you filed before they made the $10200 nontaxable but NY has not finalized their plans
If you’d like to check your refund go to www.Irs.gov
For those of you who have filed your taxes already with unemployment the IRS suggest you wait until after April 15 to do the amended return
