To all my family, friends, and future friends!!! I need your help and support to finish my weight loss journey, while supporting those effected by Alzheimer’s Disease and all other dementia! Let me start from the beginning! As of 4/14/20, I decided to change my life forever. In the prior days, I reached a weight I never thought I would see, and it disturbed me to my core. It was then, I decided to make a significant change in my health, not only for myself, but for my... family. I changed my eating habits and started exercising on a consistent basis. It was difficult to break the harmful habits I had created over many years, but I was determined and on my way to success. My overall goal was to lose 100 POUNDS and I did not care how long it took me, as long as I maintained a healthy and safe weight loss journey. Some of you may think 100 pounds is too much but I have done my research, and this is a weight that is necessary for me to reach and maintain a healthy lifestyle, primarily based on my highest starting weight. I’m beyond excited to announce today marks day 114 of my weight loss journey and I have lost 51 pounds!!! This is a great milestone and I would like to take this journey to the next level. This year is my second year as the Chairmen for the Southern Tier Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This year the walk will be on Oct. 17th and will be a social distancing walk right in your own neighborhoods. I am asking for your donations to my fundraiser supporting the Alzheimer’s Association as a pledge to my weight lose journey. I have about 50 more pounds to lose on my journey and I will not hit that goal before the walk day, but I thought this would be a great way to raise support. For every $25 donated to my fundraiser, I will either run 2.5 miles or do 25 laps of swimming. Therefore, any amount donated will be based off $1 = .1 mile run or 1 lap of swimming. This will help raise funds for the Alzheimer’s community (which is in more need of support than ever before) while keeping me on track to my own personal health goals. If you would like to help me and support those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia, please donate to my fundraiser below. If you are having any issues with your donation or you are interested in registering to participate in the Walk on Oct. 17, please private message me. TOGETHER, we can create a world WITHOUT Alzheimer’s disease and all other dementia!!

Then, it is important to have those conversations upfront. What are their wishes? Last night on WROC News 8, our Vice President of Programs and Services Toni Sexton talked about safety of people who live with dementia.
