https://coolhunting.com//the-russel-mary-wright-design-ga/ /We are thrilled with this thoughtful piece about the new Russel and Mary Wright Gallery at Manitoga. Thank you to Cool Hunting for capturing Manitoga's "sense of place" and the significance of the new Gallery.
TODAY WE WELCOMED VISITORS TO THE NEW RUSSEL AND MARY WRIGHT DESIGN GALLERY! On view with Tour bookings starting today the first day of the season. We offer a variety of tour experiences in addition to our Public Tours (Sunset, Collectors, Group and Private). TO RESERVE: visitmanitoga.org Here’s another glimpse of the gallery which offers a stunning view of Wright’s designed landscape. The experience of seeing these mid-century designs for living in this setting is inco...mparable. Also on view with tour reservation: Derek Porter’s mirrored stainless-steel Faceted Panel which reflects and refracts the surrounding view from the main House and Diana Mangaser and Yoshihiro Sergel’s contemplative Tea House installation in Mary’s Meadow -- all part of our 2021 Artist Residency Program. Please join us during this extraordinary Year of Design at Manitoga! See more
This week saw the Tea House installation in progress at Manitoga’s Mary’s Meadow with the dogwoods in full splendor! Set upon quarry stone footings, the Tea House symbolizes the integration of nature and design at Manitoga and evokes Wright’s affinity with Japan. As part of our 2021 Artist Residency Program, designers Yoshihiro Sergel and Diana Mangaser hand-crafted Tea House will be a space for contemplation and ritual, a stage for poetry and music, and as an open framework for the seasonal changes of nature. TOUR SEASON STARTS MAY 14. FOR RESERVATIONS: www.visitmanitoga.org

Currently, we are offering an immersive, multi-sensory tour experience that allows for smaller groups of family and friends. Visitors experience the site as a mindful and orchestrated movement through and dialogue with nature as envisioned by 20th century designer Russel Wright. Educators will be on ...hand to direct visitor flow and provide highlights. Public tours follow NYS health and safety guidelines for Covid-19. All tours feature Lindberg’s cycles of seeing through Nov 9 and iForest by composer Pete Wyer, an immersive sound installation in Manitoga’s woodland landscape through September.
