2020 wedding planning MOOD.

The One With No Rain To Blame Showers were heavily forecasted for Carly & Tony’s wedding day. Weeks before. Days before. Hours before. And we had no where to hide with all events in their wide open backyard spaces. Come on, 2020. I always try and keep my couples calm with doom & gloom from The Weather Channel. Even if it says a 90% chance 24 hours before, it still can break up. Even if you see dark clouds above while getting ready, it still can pass. Even if the rad...ar shows chunks of green coming our way hours before, it can still miss your street. These two right here were the ones to challenge a forecast with persistence. They had seen enough planning storms to know that if they press on, we’ll all get to the other side full of celebration. No matter where the party is being held, and what date it’s happening on. (We needed to change all of those things twice!) Guys, it was an honor to get you two to this finish line. I felt like your coach cheering you on from the sideline the whole race, pom pom in hand. To see you intently exchange vows, toast with your family, and laugh with your friends was what it was all about. Thank you for choosing me to see it through with you!!

The One With The Best Third Wheel Man One of my favorite moments at a ceremony. We are outdoors on the beautiful lawn of NFCC, when the sky falls. Buckets of summer rain. We’re halfway through the ceremony, and we all pushed on. The best man grabs an umbrella from mom, and holds it above his best friends so they can concentrate on seeing their vows through. ... Side bonus, he gets to be part of their first kiss too. What a bond!

I wanted to fly a helicopter. So I bought a helicopter. Ok. Not quite a full blown helicopter. But a flying camera to say the least, and I’m considered a pilot by the FAA. Booyah. I’ve always been captivated by drone footage. It was a large dream to just thrust myself into learning the drone world. Drones come with a lot of responsibility, like not running into City Hall windows. Many would say I had enough going on in my wedding day to handle as 1 person, why ad...d another? Well, because it’s cool as hell. I really don’t know any other way to put it. So I want to offer a cool as hell thing. Some of my 2020 couples have seen this little freak of technology make its debut into their session. It’s the size of my palm!! I’m playing, as I like to call it. I’m teaching and training myself on how to make this a feature at every shoot in the future. And I can’t wait to show you what I can do once I feel like it’s ready! Poll: Would the sound of a drone at a ceremony be: a) too annoying and distracting (it sounds like bees buzzing) b) totally worth it for the view c) who cares, the toddler ring bearer will make more noise

The One Where We Had Hotel Henry To Ourselves There wasn’t a soul in the long corridors. In the gothic courtyards. Amongst the amazing architecture and bold art. Maybe some ghosts, but definitely no patrons. And boy, did we play on that photography playground!... Meghan & Luke, thank you for staying with Vita Bella through and through icky COVID rescheduling. Even though this was our third attempt at a date together, it was THE EXACT moment it should have all happened.
