Vito DeVito Artwork 09.12.2020

Harkening back to summers past... I came across this etching of my son Drew and two of his best childhood friends: the Marienfeld boys, Jackson and Cooper. Ther...e were many carefree days spent on our dock at Penneseewassee Lake in Norway, Maine. Now all of our kids are grown up and have lives of their own. After 42 years of traveling to Maine, my wife Laurie and I have found ourselves here under unusual circumstances - we have been self-isolating and social distancing along with the rest of the nation and world. We are fortunate to be here in such beautiful surroundings. One thing that we have been happy to always count on is the nature that surrounds us. We have now come full circle, 20 years later, and will be social distancing this afternoon with our fellow empty nesters Fred and Toby Marienfeld, as well as our friends Steve and Jeanne Silverman - at a cocktail party held in lawn chairs at the end of the driveway - all while staying over 6 feet apart. We are thankful to be bridging the gap and moving into the future with our good friends of so many years. Love, family, friendships, memories... Sending our regards: if you are reading this, I hope you are safe and healthy in these trying times. To better days ahead... #MessagesFromMaine https://vitodevito.com/galleryandstore/summers-in-maine

These two murals, painted for the Montauk Historical Society Indian Museum are being put into a limited run of 50 hand-signed Artist Proof giclees. Half of the ...sales from unframed prints will go directly back to the museum. Low numbers - will be sold on a first come/first serve basis (numbers 1 through 6 are already sold). For pricing and more information, click the links below. Researching the history of the Montaukett Indian tribes has been an enlightening experience. Studying this indigenous civilization living here 2,000 years ago has been exciting, illuminating, and a lot of fun! After all, the Montaukett Indians were the first to teach the English how to whale hunt - such a huge part of our history here in The Hamptons. The mural of the Montaukett Village was painted in its exact location - with artifacts like arrowheads, pottery, etc. still being found. What a sight it must've been for scouts who looked out over the bay in awe as English ships approached the village! Their civilization was forever changed. https://vitodevito.squarespace.com/ga/montaukett-whale-hunt https://vitodevito.squarespace.com/galle/montaukett-village

Their big Spring ...Fling fundraiser is coming up on May 1st.
