REMINDER: A special HF session of the ENY Section ARES/RACES Net will be held tonight in support of the MARS Communications Exercise. 8 PM (0000Z) on our usual 75 meter spot. - KM2O ENY SEC

A reminder of tonight's regularly scheduled repeater session.... The Eastern NY Section ARES/RACES Net will be held at 8:00 PM on fourth Tuesday of each month. ...Odd numbered months (i.e. January, March, May. July, September, November) the net will be on HF 75 meters LSB at approximately 3993 kHz. Even numbered months (i.e. February, April, June, August, October, December) the net will be on the N2ACF repeater system and the KA2QYE repeater in the Northern District as a relay for counties out of range of the N2ACF system. And notice of a special HF session on Thursday Nov.2.... We will be holding a special session of the ENY Section ARES/RACES Net on Thursday, November 2 at 8:00 PM on 3993 in conjunction with the MARS COMEX scheduled for that week. As has been the practice in recent quarters, MARS is conducting a nationwide joint COMEX with amateurs to obtain status reports at the county level. This net has been scheduled to collect those reports. Relays from operators not on HF may be passed to this net. We also will open the net to counties outside ENY should they wish to participate. These exercises are an important part of interoperability between MARS and the amateur community. Thanks! Dave KM2O ENY SEC
