Waterloo Little League 2020 Season Announcement It is with great sadness that we, the Waterloo Little League Board of Directors, announce the cancelation of the 2020 Little League season. This decision was not made lightly as we took into the consideration the advice from our local health officials, Little League International, and District 5. ... It's hard to imagine a summer without baseball and softball. We will miss the sounds of cheers from the crowds, the smell of hamburgers coming from the concession stand; but more importantly, we will miss the smiles from the kids as they play a game they love. Waterloo Little League will honor all requests for refunds of registration fees. In lieu of a refund, you may use your registration fee as a donation to the league. Your donation would allow us to continue meeting our financial obligations as well as make necessary improvements and purchases such as bases and equipment. We thank you in advance for considering making a donation. Please email [email protected] by June 15th if you would like to receive a refund. Refunds will be processed after that date. Even though there will not be a season, we are looking forward to hosting a series of clinics throughout the summer. Good Morning! Last night the WLL board met to discuss its ongoing planning of the 2020 season. We are still hopeful to have a season with a tentative schedule beginning in July and running through August. The health and safety of the players and their families are our top priority. We will be working closely with the county health department as new safety protocols are put in place. ... Within the next week, a member from the board will be reaching out to you regarding the upcoming season. We want to know if given the go ahead, are you still interested in participating this summer. This will allow us to make any necessary adjustments. In the meantime, we encourage you to get outside when possible to practice some baseball or softball skills. We miss seeing everyone at the fields and hope to all be together again soon! As always, we are extremely appreciative for your support and patience as we work through this. Good Morning! We have received many questions regarding the upcoming season. At this point we still anticipate having a season; Little League International has suspended play until May 11th and NYS most recently announced the extension of "On Pause" until May 15th. We will be ready to go as soon as we're given the okay to do so. If you haven't registered and would still like to do so, registration has been re-opened until May 11th. UPDATE: We are continuing to monitor the spread of COVID-19 and what this means for Waterloo Little League. Registration is still open through March 23rd (late fees will apply), however coach announcements and player drafts will not be scheduled until sometime in April. Also please note - until further notice, we cannot allow the use of the fields. Continue to follow our page for updated information.
