Some livestock enjoy the snow more than others. Either way, it looks like winter is here to stay in the NYC Watershed!

It’s a cold, crisp, beautiful day in the NYC Watershed. After 30+ of snow across the area, we are in a blanket of white.

Thank you to everyone who registered for our Clean Sweep 2020 event. All our slots were full, which means we collected a lot of hazardous materials for proper d...isposal. Be sure to follow our page for 2021 dates and start setting your hazardous materials safely aside for this public service event. This event is a team effort organized by Delaware County Department of Public Works, Watershed Agricultural Council, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County, with financial support from NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, WAC, and Delaware County NY Government. #Recycle #SolidWaste #DelCoNY #CleanSweep #HazardousWaste #delawarecountyny #reducereuserecycle #publicservice #RecycleRightNY #delcodpw #solidwastemanagement #departmentofpublicworks #newyorkstate

Recently, our engineers shut down the Catskill Aqueduct for an important rehabilitation project. That means NYC is now receiving more water from the Croton and ...Delware Systems. As a result, you may notice that your drinking water tastes different. The geology, soil conditions, and naturally occurring minerals in the watersheds that surround our water supply reservoirs can affect the taste of your drinking water. These changes do not signify a problem with the safety of your drinking water. Our scientists test NYC's tap water hundreds of times each day, 365 days a year. They collect samples from the reservoirs, aqueducts, treatment facilities, and street-side sampling stations throughout the five boroughs to ensure your tap water is safe, clean and healthy. We encourage you to contact NYC 311 if you notice a difference in the taste/smell of your water. This helps us track trends and adjust the waterworks so that we can continue to provide the high-quality water that New Yorkers expect. More info: https://on.nyc.gov/3lWGnXN
