Ok good afternoon everyone. It's that time of year again to start pump testing. But before that can happen, you departments need to flush out your pumps. Having the foam sit in your pumps can corrode different elements in the pump. Not to mention create a headache for us pump technicians. Also make sure you are staying safe out there.

Good morning ladies and gents. Here is a short lesson for those of you that run the engine. If you have hard water in your district, or are a rural department. On all of your pre-connects, put on what we call a pony length. They are usually a 5 to 10 foot length of hose the same diameter as the pre-connect. This will enable you to disconnect the hose while on the ground rather than having to crawl up in the hose bed. Especially if your connections look like this. ... Thank you and be safe out there.
