WBBZ-TV, Your Hometown MeTV Station, was honored to partner for the first "Holiday Needs Drop Off Drive" on Sunday, organized by Pastor Steve Biegner and our friends from St. Paul's Evangelical, Parkside in Buffalo, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clarence Center, and WNY Church Unleashed. Over $12,000 (with matching funds) in cash and gift cards was raised, along with a truck FULL of food for FeedMore WNY, and the Tiger's Den Food Pantry at St. Paul's on 4007 Main Stree...t in Eggertsville where the drive was held. Thanks to the church volunteers, and Lutheran Youth WNY who safely accepted the donations, and removed food from vehicles to sort and distribute. Some familiar faces from the station took part, including Judge Penny Wolfgang from the "Big Picture" talk show; Kim Piazza from "What's The Buzz in WNY;" GM Chris Musial; and promotion manager program host John Di Sciullo. Apologies that some of our personality photos did not take in the cold, but our hometown video camera was there recording it all for an upcoming holiday station presentation! Hundreds of people, including members of the congregations, and viewers of the 10am Sunday Service that airs on WBBZ-TV, safely drove through with their generous gifts. The need is greater this year than ever before. On behalf of everyone involved, Thank You!

Congratulations to Development Director Renee DiFlavio, CEO Tammy Owen, and the team at VIA, (formerly the Olmsted Center For Sight) in staging their virtual "Dining In The Dark" Thursday night. John Di Sciullo from WBBZ-TV returned for a 3rd year as the Auctioneer, encouraging online bids for amazing prizes. "Dining In The Dark" is usually held as a dinner for sponsors and supporters. You wear a blindfold while eating to experience what being blind is like. Covid precautions have severely diminished funds for this organization that helps the blind and sight challenged, and their families. Your Hometown MeTV Station encourages you to support this hometown organization. Go to www.viawny.org. Help us grow the donations! Thanks to everyone who supported the event.
