The Harrison Public Library has just launched "Harrison Remembers," an online exhibit that features items relating to two parts of Harrison's history: "The Hills" community, the largest African-American Community in Westchester county prior to 1870, and the Parsons Memorial School. The exhibit includes items from the Westchester County Historical Society's collection. Check it out here: http://www.harrisonpl.org/harrison-remembers/
Gary Denis, a member of WCHS, has just published Sleepy Hollow - Birth of a Legend. Once Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow first appeared in 1820, readers began to guess at the true identity of the various characters who appeared in the story. Gary has spent seven years investigating where Irving found his inspiration for Ichabod, Katrina and Brom. To learn more about Gary's book, please visit http://www.garydenis.com/
