Please welcome WFCPC partner, Elisabeth Bellissimo, RN, MSN, CPNP-PC! Elisabeth is certified pediatric nurse practitioner in the Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. After receiving her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital. She then went on to complete the University... of Pennsylvania's Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program and received a Master's degree in Nursing. Q: How did you decide medicine was your career path: A: I have been passionate about pediatrics from the very beginning of my nursing career. Children are extremely resilient and have a unique way of bringing brightness and joy to any situation. As a health care professional, I always wanted to work with children because I believe that every child deserves an equal chance to live a long, healthy, and happy life. Q: What would you like to share with the CP Community: A: I feel honored to be a part of such a special group of health care providers who are dedicated to the care of children and adults with cerebral palsy. It is a joy to play a role in bettering the lives of those within the CP community. Additionally, as a certified yoga instructor, I am dedicated to making the practice of yoga accessible so that everyone has the opportunity to experience the many health benefits that yoga can provide.

#WeinbergWednesday Spotlight on Jennifer Fashuen, our Research Project Admin. Jennifer spends most of her time working on the Genetics Project! Why did you want to work at WFCPC? "I wanted to work at the WFCPC because I wanted to serve and make a difference among an underserved and underrepresented community that suffers from a disability that is still under-explored." ... What do you love about working at the WFCPC? I enjoy interacting with the CP patients during their visits to the clinic and helping them gain resources to better understand the etiology of their CP. I also enjoy being able to witness their growth and improvement."
