So. Again we find ourselves the recipients of wayward and convalescent poultry. I have lost my mind long ago... A neighbor found himself in a duckie-pickle today when a stray and obviously domesticated duck decided that his front lawn was where all of the cool duck mommas and their broods go to hang.... Who sprang to the rescue? But of course the same woman who took the dispatched deer from the car accident on his lawn just this fall... I guess I leave an impression? Momma duck (now to be known as Mabel) and her four ducklings are happily camped in the brooder room of the barn with the other seven babies. She has adopted my babies... let's face it, she had four and they had juuuuuuust hatched :) I snuck those other seven to her Ninja-style hoping she wouldn't notice!!! It worked! Thanks go to the crazy and amazing neighbor and his lovely wife who bird-sat with them all day to keep them safe, looked online to see what they could eat and then helped me chase and capture them so they didn't become coyote-kibble. A special thanks goes to my amazing husband who simply rolled his eye at me as he awwwwwwwwed at them when I got them home. True love, hard work and lots and lots of livestock. The best way to keep a happy house!

Best part of chores was seeing the double rainbow over the bird's yard! The pot o gold was aimed at where Poppa Bear Tim got his deer :)
