Wells fire company members!!! I’m posting to let every member with a portable radio to please have them dropped off at the firehouse Thursday night starting at 5pm. I will be there to collect, tag and check them. I’m staying there until 8pm and then calling anybody that didn’t show up, to see if they can either bring them or I will come with a fire truck and air horn to get them!!They will then spend the night at the firehouse and be reprogrammed on Friday morning- early aft...ernoon, and then can be picked up at 5pm. Please share this with every member you know so we can get this all done at once. You will also be provided with a new list of fire company channels. Please let me know if there is any problems with your radio when you drop it off, and I will try and get it fixed. There will be a sign up sheet for a joint drill with speculator fire at the recycling center on the 26th starting at 9am. Sign up so we know how much we need for a lunch count!! Thanks everyone and don’t forget to share!! 1st Assistant Chief Timothy Oneill See more

Speculator Volunteer Fire Company joined Wells Volunteer Fire Company in a joint training exercise in coordination with NYS DEC Forest Rangers and GAVAC at Auger Falls, a popular day hike destination. The various rescue equipment and personnel of both companies reviewed the techniques, strategies and protocols of the three agencies to successfully operate in the area should the need arise to assist visitors to this attractive and scenic destination. A highlight of the training session were the several "junior" firefighters that participated in the, hands on, safety, supervision and mutual cooperation activities. The Fire Company's have an active recruitment and scholarship program and encourage our area teenagers to investigate the many volunteer and career options offered.
