It's open enrollment time! Know how to choose dental coverage. Here are a few things to consider: 1. PPO vs HMO - PPO plans give you the freedom to see any dentist you wish. HMO plans are very restrictive and and are accepted by fewer dentists.... 2. Annual maximum/limit - aggregate amount that insurance will pay towards procedures within a calendar year. 3. Out of Network coverage - most people think that if your dentist is out of network, you can’t see him/her, or have to pay additional fees, or different prices, or switch to a plan where he/she is in-network. That’s not entirely true! You have the freedom to see an in-network or out-of-network provider if you have a PPO plan. Even if your dentist is out of network, you’re covered!
