The driver cowardly fled in his vehicle while Oscar suffered multiple fractures to his ankle. He luckily did not suffer any additional serious injuries. ... Unfortunately, the injuries he sustained will cause him a great deal of pain while not being able to work for an extended period of time. He will also have medical bills, travel expenses due to follow-up care, and other expenses that he will have difficulty paying while home. We are starting a collection for him to help pay for these costs. Please give what you can for him. Any help you can give him will be greatly appreciated! Oscar is one of the kindest, loyal, and dependable people we know. He deserves our support! Also please spread the word to those who may be interested in helping. There is also a collection box in the store if you’d like to leave him cash. We will be sending him cash from this weekly. UPDATE: 7/26 Oscar underwent successful surgery to have pins and screws put into his lower leg. He is doing much better but knows that he has a long road ahead of him. This evening he finally was released to his home where he is resting and healing. He feels very lucky to be alive and is grateful for all your kind sentiments and concerns. He hopes to be back soon!!
