West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company

This morning crews from West Glens Falls performed a drill on vehicle extrication. Members went over different techniques to stabilize vehicles, and extricate victims from a vehicle. Great work by all who attended!

This evening members from West Glens Falls conducted part 1 of a 3 part training on SCBA Emergencies with Instructor Williams of My Brother's Keeper Fire Training. Members trained on ways to react to an SCBA emergency and practiced escaping entanglement situations. Great work by all members and thank you to Instructor Williams!

*Please Share!* The West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company is excited to announce that we are hosting a Wetdown Celebration on Saturday, July 10, at 1:00pm. Line up for mutual aid companies attending will open up by 12:00pm, and we are looking to kick off right at 1:00pm. After the wetdown and a small dedication ceremony, we will be serving hamburgers and hotdogs to those in attendance. We hope to see you all there! Invitations for companies to attend have been sent out by the Wetdown Committee, so please RSVP as soon as possible!

Crews are holding a car wash fundraiser today at our 33 Luzerne Rd Station, stop by and get your car washed! They’ll be out there until 1:30!

This morning we would like to remember all those who had lost their lives fighting for our freedom! We hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day with their loved ones!

Congratulations to Firefighter Connor Allen on completing and passing the New York State Firefighter 1 course (BEFO and IFO). We would like to take a moment to congratulate Firefighters Chris Ost and Will Bacharach on the full completion of Firefighter 1 and Firefighter Connor Allen and JR Firefighter Kayla Monroe on completing Basic Exterior Fire Operations and Haz-Mat First Responder Ops!

Last night members trained in our new natural gas meter with the help of a representative from National Grid, the meter uses laser technology to detect and measure gas up to 100 feet away!

This morning members from West Glens Falls, Bay Ridge, and South Queensbury Fire Department’s conducted a drill with My Brother's Keeper - NE Emergency Training on aircraft fires, we used an RV as a make shift Fuselage of an aircraft. Great work by all departments involved!
