Please show your support by participating in these school-wide events.
FEELING BLUE: The staff of about 80 strong decided to turn our junior high school into "Camp Dake" on Thursday. Dozens of teachers donned blue T-shirts that said just that. It was a twist on the WICPTSA's Wellness Week theme. The camp idea came from social studies teacher, Allison Tomarchio. Dake students will see some teachers decked out in yellow shirts Friday, as Wellness Week wraps! Well played, Dake!
FREE MEALS FOR ALL: We wanted to remind you that thanks to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's free meals program, all students eat for free (and at no cost to West Irondequoit taxpayers). Meals served in our buildings and to remote learners have been free this school year (milk costs 50 cents). This will continue until further notice. Families that planned to fill out a Free-and-Reduced Meals application should still do so because the USDA says its program may be discontinu...ed without any advanced notice. For students learning remotely, we serve a grab-and-go breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the back entrance to IHS (Door #5). On Wednesdays, when there is no in-person instruction and all WICSD students learn remotely, any K-12 student can use this meal option at IHS. SEE ALL MENUS: Access all menus, including for Remote Learners, by clicking the Food Services quick link at westirondequoit.org, then Menus. NO CASH ACCEPTED: There will be NO CASH transactions, so parents/guardians should make sure their child(ren)’s My School Bucks has funds.
