West Side Pet Clinic 26.01.2021

Happy Vet Tech Week to our techs! Erin, Christina, Kim, Kaylee and Jen make up our hard-working team and without them, nothing we do here would be possible. It has been a tough year on everyone but this crew right here stuck with us the entire time and allowed us to keep our doors open! We truly cannot thank them enough for all they do here at the clinic. Make sure you show them some love next time you see them in here - they deserve it!! EDIT: And we can't forget about Betsy! She has been stuck in Canada throughout all of this and hasn't been able to be here but we can't wait for her to return! :)

Hello everyone! We just wanted to post a quick update here. Until further notice, we are open by appointment only. We realize this is a big change, but our lobby is too small to accommodate a waiting room full of clients and pets. Upon arrival for your appointment, please call the phone number posted on the signs in our parking lot, and on our front door. The receptionist will check you in, and then one of our veterinary technicians will call you back to gather some informa...tion. Please keep your cell phone nearby and on volume at all times while you wait for our call. Once we have an exam room ready, you will be notified that you can come inside the building. **Please note: we are allowing one person to accompany the pet for the visit, and that person must be wearing a mask. If you are not wearing a mask the proper way, you will be asked to put your mask on, or come back another time if you cannot do so. This is for everyone’s safety including yours. You will also have the option of remaining in your car, or outside, for the duration of the appointment.** Due to a higher than usual call volume, and to give our staff time to adjust to our new procedures, the best way to contact us right now is by e-mailing us. Our e-mail address is [email protected]. For non-medical questions, such as appointment requests or medication refill requests, you may also text us at 716-367-8787. Phone messages are checked very frequently throughout the day; if you wish to leave a message, you can be assured that your call will be returned. We simply cannot get back to everyone as quickly as we normally can right now, but we are trying our absolute best! Thank you once again for your patience and understanding!

Hello Everyone! We just wanted to post a quick update. We want to thank everyone for their patience with us over these past two months. It has not been an easy transition from walk-ins to appointment-only, but we are getting by! We will post more information next week, including information about our new texting service where you can make appointment requests, order medication refills, and ask general questions about our hours, services, and current protocols. We are closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day, and will re-open on Tuesday, May 26th. Thank you once again for your support during this time!

Thank you all again for your understanding during this almost impossible time. We are in the very, very difficult position of wanting to stay open to be there for you and your pets, but also wanting to keep our staff home to help flatten the curve and slow the spread. Check out this highly informative, easy-to-follow video that perfectly illustrates the crisis we are facing right now. Please do your part and be responsible right now. If you think your pet's need can wait - ...please, please wait. #stayhome #flattenthecurve

Our phones seem to be temporarily down! In the meantime, here is important information to know: We are seeing appointments on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, only for essential things. Only employees are allowed in the building. We are encouraging email communication as we are short staffed.... We will do our best to get back to you with any questions - it may just take longer than usual!

Thursday update! We can no longer allow clients inside but there is good news! You can still watch the exam from the front window! And we're streaming! Check out exams on our webcam! https://livestream.com/wspcbuffalo/events/8167166

Yes, we have these big scary signs on our front door. But they are only temporary - we will be going back to walk-ins as soon as possible! How soon? It depends. No, it doesn't depend on when we HEAR it is safe to resume normal operations. It depends on how soon we ACT and take social distancing very seriously. We all must act IMMEDIATELY. Cancel those plans. Cancel that trip. Cancel everything. We will all be rewarded in the long run. We love our clients and our patients - ...we have to be here for you and your pet. But we have to find a middle ground between cutting hours, telling employees to stay home, and still being available. There will likely be further cuts to our hours of operations - the sign on our door might change daily. It is unfortunate but we have to be prepared for it. However, we are going to do absolutely whatever we can to remain available for you. That might mean an e-mail, a phone call, or a remote visit instead of a trip to the vet. Please try to take steps to prepare for that. Like everyone else, we are continuing to learn more and adapt. We don't like wearing gloves all the time (it is very hard to type this right now). We don't like keeping a distance, because it goes against who we are as a species - we are social creatures suddenly forced to be anti-social. But steps we take NOW will determine how long this awkward phase will last. Thank you!

We will be posting updates and reminders constantly - please follow this page for new updates! **Beginning immediately we will be STOPPING ALL WALK-INS and only admitting patients by appointment. We are doing this so we can continue to serve our patients and to help ensure the safety of our staff. Please keep these things in mind prior to coming in: 1) Our staff has been instructed to keep as far a distance as reasonable, and we ask that you respect that. We are not physical...ly handling credit cards (we will take numbers verbally) and we will be transitioning away from cash transactions at this time. 2) Only two people will be admitted into exam rooms together at all times. 3) If you are sick, or someone is sick at home, please do not come in. We will still do our best to take care of your pet - please call us or e-mail us and we will help you. Please believe that we are doing this in the best interest of EVERYONE involved. We thank you for your understanding and patience as we get through this uneasy time.

**Important Message from West Side Pet Clinic** We are in the midst of rapidly changing and uncertain times, but we want to assure everyone that we are doing ABSOLUTELY everything we can to take care of our patients and our staff. To that end, we are making the following, immediate changes: 1) We are eliminating walk-ins and are only seeing patients by appointment. To schedule an appointment, please either call 716-882-1245 or e-mail [email protected].... 2) We are limiting the amount of patients in our lobby. If you need to come in, we urge you to only bring one person with you to help. More than two people will not be allowed in the exam rooms. 3) We would prefer credit card payments at this time. Please remember that we are not changing our long term plan to remain a walk-in, low-cost clinic. However, we are doing to our best to adapt to what is going on around us. We are going to be continually updating this page if there are more developments. We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.

Good morning! **Please stay tuned for important announcements regarding plans for the next couple of weeks**

West Side Pet Clinic 23.07.2020

Since the emergence of coronavirus, West Side Pet Clinic has been closely monitoring and following CDC recommendations to ensure we are doing everything possible to keep our clients and their pets safe. We know that the current uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 can be scary, but know that, as always, we are here to help pets and will continue to do so! Here's what you need to know before your next visit: -If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, please consider asking a fr...iend or family member to bring in your pet on your behalf. If that is not an option, remain in your vehicle and give us a call. Someone will meet you outside and give you a pager. -We have always prided ourselves on cleanliness and hygiene. Still, starting immediately, we will conduct additional cleaning throughout the day of common spaces like counters, door knobs, exam rooms, and restrooms. -If there is a long wait, consider waiting in your car or on one of our outdoor benches with a pager. The pager will go off when it is your turn! At this time, we are maintaining our regular walk-in hours. Keep an eye on this page for future updates!
