WGXC 90.7-FM, Greene and Columbia County community radio 15.01.2021

This is the end. The final episode of "Donald Drumpf Theatre" airs Thursday at 3 p.m. on WGXC 90.7-FM. This radio theatre show launched January 19, 2017 and has aired weekly since. The show is about a fictional, theatrical presidency culled from songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. This week's 210th episode "Goodbye, Farewell, Amen" features some of the series best contributors including Anthony Atamanuik ("The President Show"), Ra...ndy Rainbow, J.L. Cauvin, and Amy Rigby. Thanks this week for the songs from "The Sound of Music" ("So Long, Farewell"), The Doors ("The End"), Amy Rigby ("Four Years of U"), Randy Rainbow ("Seasons of Trump"), Shellac ("The End of Radio"), The Beatles ("The End"), Vera Lynn ("We'll Meet Again"), "M*A*S*H Theme ("Suicide is Painless"), and Golden Earring ("Twilight Zone"). Clips and excerpts from Rod Serling; Rudy Giuliani; Cartman; Richard Nixon; Hawkeye Pierce and B.J. Hunnicutt from "M*A*S*H;" J.L. Cauvin; Mika Brzezinski; Willie Geist; "The Jimmy Kimmel Show;" Stephen Colbert; Seth Meyers; Henry Hill from "Goodfellas;" Jerry Seinfeld and Kramer from "Seinfeld;" and Orson Welles. An original radio theatre show each week, with most sounds culled from the previous week, about a fictional, theatrical presidency. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. Currently airing on 30 or 40 stations around the world, the network has cancelled the show. A new show, "Turn on the News," takes its place next week, in the same time slot, with a similar sound and approach, though about a fictional radio network. Produced by Wave Farm's Artistic Director, Tom Roe, Donald Drumpf Theatre is syndicated to approximately 45 stations across the country. Go here to listen: https://wavefarm.org/wf/archive/8qbbmh
