Mrs. McDougall is excited to share that she had 13 T. J. Connor students get "Musician of the Month" for December. These students turned in 2 or more signed practice sheets during the month. Congratulations to them on all their hard work!
Reminder: Informational Meeting Regarding Four Day In-Person Instruction at the Middle/High School We have been continually assessing our instructional delivery model and would like to determine the feasibility of adjusting our current hybrid model to include more in-person instruction. We believe that children learn best when they are in school, with their teachers and classmates, so long as it can be done safely. Our leadership team has conducted an initial feasibility s...tudy and has determined that with our current numbers of fully remote students we can have the remaining hybrid students return to school for four days of instruction each week. Before we move forward, several steps need to occur: -Fully remote students will need to commit to being fully remote for at least the third quarter. If you wish to have your child exit the fully remote program and return to school for four days of instruction, you must contact the main office no later than Friday January 15th. Please keep in mind we are only able to explore a four-day in-person option due to our current numbers. If a large number students who are currently fully remote elect to return to in-person instruction, we may need to continue with our current two-day per week hybrid approach. -Any family or student who currently attends in the hybrid model would begin to attend in-person instruction four days per week unless the family elects to go fully remote. As in the above scenario, we need to have this information no later than January 15th. If we are able to proceed, we would expect hybrid students to attend school in person four days per week (M,T,TH, F) and there would be no remote option for hybrid students on any of those days. In an effort to address questions that you may have and so that you have relevant information ahead of the January 15th deadline, we will hold an informational forum on Wednesday, January 13th at 7pm. Your questions will also help us to capture information needed to create as smooth as a transition from hybrid to four day instruction as possible. Questions can be submitted live in writing but video capabilities for attendees will be inactive.) As long as we are able to do so safely, and barring any new information from the Governor’s office, we would look to begin four-day in-person instruction at the start of the second semester on February 1st.

Dear Wheatland-Chili School Community, The events that unfolded in our nation’s capital yesterday have impacted our community, our staff, and our students. As educators, we are responsible for preparing students for future career and academic success, but we also have a responsibility to demonstrate how Americans can meaningfully participate in civic life. We are prepared to support our students that have questions and concerns about yesterday’s events. For this reason, our ...Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) teams have provided our teachers with support information regarding how to handle this topic with students. Additional counseling staff are available to talk with students, as necessary. It is my hope that our school community will come together to support each other during these difficult times. Sincerely, Lynda Quick Superintendent

If you have been confused by the requirements of the Yellow, Orange, and Red Zones, you’re not alone. We have received updated guidance from the Governor’s Office regarding what these zones mean for Wheatland-Chili, and we have posted it to our District’s online COVID hub. We’ve also prepared resources to share with your child to help reduce any anxiety surrounding the testing. We hope this information brings clarity to this complex and dynamic situation. https://www.wheatland.k12.ny.us/Page/3504
An amazing 190 students achieved Honor Roll or High Honor Roll for the first quarter - a new record! The PTA celebrated these students by making individual treat bags - thank you! And congratulations to our Wildcats!
