Back in March we really weren't sure if we could pull this project off. Start a theater in a small town in upstate New York... crowd fund a budget... cast twenty people and bring A Midsummer Night's Dream to the public for free. With a lot of hard work and the amazing support of the community we created a work of art we can all be proud of. We started Whitehall Public Theater with the idea that it could grow into something of real permanence in the town. Unfortunately, life... doesn't always take the course we imagine. Work is moving us out of state soon and while both Sandee and I are excited for what comes next, we are deeply saddened not to be able to bring more theater to Whitehall. Be you donor, actor, volunteer, or audience member, we can't thank you enough for putting your trust in us and helping us create a truly magical production. We hope we have proven that if you are passionate about your community, your community will give it back ten-fold. If we have inspired a single person to get involved in theater in any capacity then we can call it a job well done. So, goodnight unto you all. -John Beck
Our initial efforts into finding a group to take the set pieces off our hands so we don't have to destroy them have not come to fruition. If you know of a local school or theater that can make use of 4 pillars, 8 tree cutouts, and various bush cutouts, please let us know. I would love to pass on our set piece to someone who can make use of them.
If you missed our completely free production of A Midsummer Night's Dream... Guess what? You still have a chance to see it!
This summer has been hot, exhausting, difficult, and over way too soon. Thank you to the entire cast and crew of A Midsummer Night's Dream for your talent, hard work, and friendship.
After five long months of hard work overtaking our entire life... was it all worth it? The answer is a resounding YES.
Thanks for sharing this. Couldn't ask for a better review!
