Calling ALL hockey goalies!!! It is finally your chance to get on our synthetic ice! We are SO excited to be offering a FREE clinic to all hockey goalies, Tuesd...ay, 4/20 at 5:30pm at SWEAT X. We are blessed to have TWO of the best hockey coaches in the area coming to our facility to work with our CNY goalies. Adam Dekker is the goalie coach for Utica College Pioneer Men's Hockey where he has been since the Fall of 2014. Adam played goalie for UC where he held school records for saves in a career, game, season, shut outs and wins! Nick Therrien is the first full time asst. since 2018 for Utica College Pioneer Men's Hockey and one of the top goalies in the programs history! Who better to learn from?! This FREE clinic is the start of what we hope will be trainings that we offer for goalies all summer long! The Snowbelt Youth Hockey League Board of Representatives met via Zoom this evening and came to a consensus that the 2020-21 regular season and J.A.M. Tournamen...ts shall be canceled. The safety of players, coaches, referees, fans, and communities is paramount. While this is a disappointing decision to have to make, we feel it is the correct choice. Multiple factors came into play during the discussion, including the following: The Board had agreed upon a latest possible start date of January 2 or 9 if hockey games were allowed at that time. There are no indications that hockey games will be allowed within that timeframe. Even with a possible start to the sport in early January and a reduced number of League games, the likelihood of a large number of game cancellations due to team sickness and/or quarantine would likely prevent most or all teams from completing or rescheduling all scheduled games. NYSAHA is unable to provide us with a solid start date until the Governor’s office gives the go-ahead. The New York State Governor’s office will not allow high-risk winter sports while the infection rates continue to increase (and infection rates continue to increase). The NYSPHSAA (high school) has already announced the cancellation of all Winter State Championships and all high-risk sports are postponed until authorization is granted by state officials. (NYSPHSAA has no direct affiliation with the functioning of Snowbelt but the status of high school hockey does impact some associations and rinks.) As an alternative to the 2020-21 season, Snowbelt will collect and publish team contacts from teams that would have participated in the League if the season had been allowed to progress. If the state allows hockey games between associations, this information will allow teams to schedule pick-up games with each other. This pick-up format will allow teams and associations to schedule games according to their comfort levels and according to the team’s health and quarantine status. The Snowbelt Board wishes everyone a safe and healthy winter season. We hope to see everyone back on the ice when it’s safe to do so!

While this information is new and ever changing, we will gather all the information so we can provide a clear and transparent message to you all.

Given these unusual circumstances surrounding us all and the effects of COVID-19, the BOD has approved a budget that reflects the importance of our members and the financial difficulties you may be facing. ... With an approved budget, we are excited to announce that registration is open for the 20-21 season, and for the 3rd consecutive year, tuition costs were not increased and we were still able to offer our returning players with a $100 discount. There are a few changes however we wanted to make you aware of. - Concession will still provide you with 2 options; Option 1- pay the $150 deposit to work 15 hours (increased from 12) and upon completion receive your deposit back. Option 2- buyout for $300 (increased from $200) - Tuition for goalies will be the same as skaters -We are offering 3 payment options; Pay in full 3-month payment plan with automatic withdrawal 6-month payment plan with automatic withdrawal -If you are in need of financial assistance, we also have 2 scholarships; the Mish Fund for skaters and the Buley Fund for goalies.
